Description
What is A2 Ghee?
The ‘A2’ in A2 desi cow ghee refers to the specific type of beta-casein protein found in the milk. Unlike regular milk, A2 milk only contains the A2 variant of this protein, which is believed to be more digestible and healthier. A2 ghee is renowned for its potential health benefits. It is often easier for those with lactose intolerance or milk sensitivities to digest. It is also a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for brain health, and it contains vitamins A, E, and D.
A2 ghee, a unique variety of clarified butter, is derived from the skimmed milk of indigenous Desi Gyr Cattle specifically the Desi Gir cow. This traditional ghee making process is known as the Bilona method. This process involves converting milk into yogurt, churning the yogurt to extract butter, and then simmering the butter to create ghee.
In Ayurvedic practices, A2 Gir cow ghee is highly valued for its alleged medicinal properties and is a key ingredient in numerous traditional Indian dishes. The production of A2 Gyr cattle ghee also promotes sustainable farming, as it is usually made in small batches and often sourced from farms that emphasize animal welfare and organic farming methods.
It’s important to note that while A2 Gir Cow Ghee is lauded for its nutritional content, the traditional bilona method of making A2 ghee process removes all proteins, leaving behind only pure butterfat. To preserve its quality and extend its shelf life, A2 ghee should be stored away from direct sunlight and kept in a cool place.
Why is A2 ghee costly?
A2 Desi Cow Ghee is considered premium and costly due to its production from the milk of Indian Desi Gir Cow like the Sahiwal and Gir, which have a lower yield compared to other breeds. The traditional Bilona method used for making A2 ghee is , time-consuming & labor-intensive, involving hand-churning in clay pots, which contributes to its higher price. Additionally, the health benefits associated with A2 Desi Gir Cow Ghee, such as easier digestion and absence of the A1 beta-casein protein, which can cause intolerance issues, make it a sought-after product. God A2 Cow Ghee is the best when compared to regular ghee as well as other brand’s ghee.
Desi Gyr Cattle A2 ghee is often praised for its potential health benefits, including a higher content of vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids compared to regular ghee made from hybrid cows. The higher price point of A2 Cow Ghee is also attributed to the fact that Desi Gir cows typically produce less milk than crossbred varieties, making the milk and its derivatives more exclusive.
What is the difference between A2 and normal ghee?
A2 Desi Cow ghee, derived from the milk of Gir cattle that naturally produce only the A2 beta-casein protein, is often considered superior to regular ghee. This superiority is attributed to its higher content of vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids. The A2 protein, believed to be the original type found in Gir cow’s milk, is easier to digest and less likely to cause discomfort, making A2 Desi Gir Cow Ghee beneficial for digestion. While both A2 Desi Cow Ghee and normal ghee can be used in cooking due to their high smoke point, God A2 Desi Cow ghee may offer a unique flavor profile. Despite its increasing availability, A2 Gir Cow Ghee may be more expensive and less widely available than regular ghee due to its unique source and production process. This explains why God A2 Desi Gyr Cow Ghee is more expensive than regular ghee.
